Creamy and Delicious Kheer Recipe to Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth!

Kheer is a traditional Indian dessert that is made on special occasions and festivals. It is a rice pudding that is sweet, creamy and aromatic. With this recipe, you can make kheer at home with just a few simple ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 1 litre milk
  • 1/2 cup basmati rice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • A pinch of saffron
  • 2 tbsp chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios, cashews)

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the rice in water and soak it in enough water for 30 minutes.
  2. Bring the milk to a boil on medium heat in a heavy-bottomed pan. Stir occasionally to avoid burning.
  3. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the boiling milk. Cook on medium heat until the rice is soft and the milk has thickened. Stir occasionally to avoid sticking.
  4. Add sugar, cardamom powder and saffron to the milk-rice mixture. Mix well.
  5. Cook for another 10-15 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.
  6. Turn off the heat and let the kheer cool for a few minutes.
  7. Garnish with chopped nuts and serve chilled or at room temperature.
