How to Make Delicious Gobhi Masala: A Step-by-Step Recipe Guide
Gobhi Masala is a popular Indian dish made with cauliflower and a rich tomato-based gravy. It is a vegetarian dish that is easy to make and is perfect for a family dinner or a special occasion.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 medium-sized cauliflower, cut into florets
- 2 medium-sized onions, finely chopped
- 3 medium-sized tomatoes, puréed
- 2-3 green chillies, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS:
- In a pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds. Once the cumin seeds start to splutter, add onions, green chillies, ginger paste and garlic paste. Sauté for 2-3 minutes or until the onions turn translucent.
- Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and red chilli powder. Mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Add tomato purée and salt to taste. Stir well and cook for 5-6 minutes or until the oil starts to separate.
- Add cauliflower florets and mix well with the tomato-based gravy. Cover the pan and cook on low flame for 15-20 minutes or until the cauliflower is cooked through.
- Once the cauliflower is cooked, add garam masala powder and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
