Make Restaurant-Style Chilli Potato at Home with This Easy Recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium-sized potatoes
  • 2 tbsp corn flour
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2-3 green chillies, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp corn flour
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Spring onion greens for garnishing

Instructions:

  1. Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into long, thin strips.
  2. In a bowl, mix corn flour, all-purpose flour, and salt. Add enough water to make a thick batter.
  3. Dip the potato strips in the batter, coating them well.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the potato strips until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove them from the pan and keep them aside.
  5. In a separate pan, heat 2 tbsp oil. Add chopped onions and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Add chopped garlic, ginger, green chillies, and green bell pepper to the pan. Sauté for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add tomato ketchup, red chilli powder, soy sauce, vinegar, and sugar to the pan. Mix well.
  8. Mix corn flour and water in a small bowl to make a slurry.
  9. Add the slurry to the pan and mix well. Let the sauce cook for 1-2 minutes.
  10. Add the fried potato strips to the pan and mix well so that the sauce coats the potatoes evenly.
  11. Garnish with spring onion greens and serve hot.
