Samak Rice Chilla

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Samak Rice Flour
  • 1/4 cup Grated Bottle Gourd (Lauki)
  • 1/4 cup Grated Carrot
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for cooking

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, add Samak Rice Flour, grated Bottle Gourd, grated Carrot, chopped Coriander Leaves, Cumin Seeds, and Salt to taste. Mix well.
  2. Add water gradually and mix to form a smooth batter of pouring consistency. Make sure there are no lumps in the batter.
  3. Heat a non-stick tawa or griddle over medium flame. Once it is hot, pour a ladle full of batter onto the tawa and spread it in a circular motion to form a thin chilla.
  4. Drizzle some oil around the edges of the chilla and cook for 2-3 minutes or until it turns golden brown.
  5. Flip the chilla using a spatula and cook on the other side for another 2-3 minutes or until it is cooked.
  6. Repeat the process to make more chillas with the remaining batter.
  7. Serve hot with Mint Chutney or Tomato Ketchup.
