Samak Rice Chilla Recipe: Delicious and Healthy Vrat Special Dish
Samak Rice Chilla is a popular breakfast dish in India, especially during fasting days. It is easy to make and packed with nutrition. Samak Rice, also known as Barnyard Millet, is a gluten-free grain that is rich in fiber and minerals like iron, magnesium, and zinc. Here is a simple recipe for making samak rice chilla:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Samak Rice Flour
- 1/4 cup Grated Bottle Gourd (Lauki)
- 1/4 cup Grated Carrot
- 1/4 cup Chopped Coriander Leaves
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
- Salt to taste
- Oil for cooking
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, add Samak Rice Flour, grated Bottle Gourd, grated Carrot, chopped Coriander Leaves, Cumin Seeds, and Salt to taste. Mix well.
- Add water gradually and mix to form a smooth batter of pouring consistency. Make sure there are no lumps in the batter.
- Heat a non-stick tawa or griddle over medium flame. Once it is hot, pour a ladle full of batter onto the tawa and spread it in a circular motion to form a thin chilla.
- Drizzle some oil around the edges of the chilla and cook for 2-3 minutes or until it turns golden brown.
- Flip the chilla using a spatula and cook on the other side for another 2-3 minutes or until it is cooked.
- Repeat the process to make more chillas with the remaining batter.
- Serve hot with Mint Chutney or Tomato Ketchup.
