Tasty and Spicy Tawa Chicken Recipe for Your Next Meal

Tawa chicken is a popular North Indian dish that is known for its spicy and flavorful taste. The dish is named after the tawa, which is a flat iron griddle used for cooking the chicken. Here is a simple recipe for making tawa chicken at home:
 
Tawa Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 500g chicken, boneless and cut into small pieces
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 green chilli, finely chopped

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the chicken with ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, red chilli powder and salt. Mix well and keep aside for 20-30 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan or tawa on medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and slightly browned.
  3. Remove the chicken from the pan and keep it aside.
  4. In the same pan, add chopped onions and sauté until they become translucent.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and green chilli to the pan and cook until the tomatoes are soft and mushy.
  6. Add the cooked chicken back to the pan and mix well with the onion-tomato mixture.
  7. Add fresh coriander leaves and lemon juice to the pan and mix well.
  8. Adjust the seasoning as per your taste.
  9. Serve hot with naan, roti or steamed rice.
